What YHub Does

What does it do?

The YHub does not run traditional computer training classes, offer games or show movies for entertainment. It is meant to be a creative space for youth to network, incubate ideas that have a social purpose where youth groups can come together to showcase and amplify their voice across multiple areas of interest.

Youth interested in employment and training prospects are able to find out about national and regional opportunities, refresh or develop skills and network with private sector partners who are interested in better preparing youth for internships, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The selection of these events, seminars, and overall content will be customized by the youth for effective demand-driven programming which is shared with all registered youth of ‘Tukoworks’ Employment portal via sms and social media platforms. This youth driven approach will have the capacity of reaching over one million – plus youth from across the country interested in accessing the resources provided by this interactive network model for employment and career development.

This partnership model (Microsoft & The Homeboyz Foundation) and delivery interface will be the first of its kind on the sub-Saharan continent, and will serve as the prototype that will be customized and rolled out to other African countries in 2014.
